John ALGEO was born in 1785 in Pennsylvania.⁽⁵²⁾ He resided between 1830 and 1877 in Springfield Twp., Harrison Co., OH.⁽¹¹⁵⁾⁽⁵²⁾⁽¹¹⁶⁾ I believe that John and Eliza resided in Jefferson Co. continuously starting some time before 1830. Harriet Algeo returned to Jefferson Co. to marry each of her husbands. I believe that either she returned to live with her parents between each marriage or she brought each husband home to meet her parents before marrying. TAJ, 5/29/97 He died in 1877 in Springfield Twp., Harrison Co., OH.⁽¹¹⁶⁾ All Census records indicate that John was born in PA. The ALGEO Placement Page on the ALGOE web site is the source of the information that he is Harriet's father. This has him as being born in Ireland but agrees as to year. He was married to Eliza MCGILL.⁽¹¹⁷⁾

43. Eliza MCGILL was born in 1788 in Pennsylvania.⁽⁵²⁾ She resided between 1830 and 1974 in Springfield Twp., Harrison Co., OH.⁽¹¹⁵⁾ ⁽⁵²⁾⁽¹¹⁶⁾ She died on Aug 6 1874 in Springfield Twp., Harrison Co., OH.⁽¹¹⁶⁾ It is also a corroborating fact that Harriet Algeo returned to Jefferson Co. to marry each of her husbands. I believe that either she returned to live with her parents between each marriage or she brought each husband home to meet her parents before marrying. TAJ, 5/29/97 Children were:

i. William ALGEO was born on Sep 8 1816 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny Co., PA.⁽⁸⁵⁾ He died on Jan 16 1889 in Carrol Co., OH.⁽⁸⁵⁾
ii. John ALGEO was born on Jan 24 1819.⁽⁸⁵⁾ He appeared on the census in 1850 in Decature Twp., Washington Co., OH.⁽¹¹⁸⁾ He died on Jan 2 1899 in Oklahoma.⁽⁸⁵⁾
iii. James ALGEO was born on Jun 23 1820.⁽⁸⁵⁾ He appeared on the census in 1850 in Decature Twp., Washington Co., OH.⁽¹¹⁸⁾ He died about 1906.⁽⁸⁵⁾⁽¹¹⁷⁾
iv. Rebecca ALGEO was born on Jan 19 1822.⁽⁸⁵⁾ She died before 1891.⁽⁸⁵⁾
v. Eliza Jane ALGEO was born on Sep 15 1823.⁽⁸⁵⁾ She died after 1891.⁽⁸⁵⁾
vi. George Washington ALGEO was born on Sep 4 1825.⁽⁸⁵⁾ "Died fairly young, was a great marksman" -- Judy Ewing, 5/26/97

x. John ALGEO died in 1850 in Springfield Twp., Harrison Co., OH.⁽¹¹⁶⁾
